I have been a mother for the last seven years and have had my career for the last fifteen years.
I am also a wife, daughter, sister, friend, employee, chauffeur, the human equivalent Alexa for reminders, shopping lists, appointments, google symptom checker.
Basically, if you are here and reading this then the chances are, I am YOU. I am a human being who, like yourself, has been trying to do it all.
Some of us choose this life, and for others, this life of being a Wonder Woman.
What we all have in common is that whilst we are able to manage, we are always on the quest for an improved, efficient, smarter way of doing things.
Why? So we can gain some more time back in our lives and actually live, not just exist to serve others.
The purpose of this blog is to help you find better ways, tools and techniques to achieve work/life balance.
During my days of searching for help to navigate these new wonderful yet crazy chapter of life of balancing motherhood, the home and work, I came across tons of literary information for mothers (books and articles) and similar levels of information for women who want to progress their careers, however, next to nothing for a mother with a career. There appears to be a huge disconnect here – almost as if the two are not happening and yet the latest statistics show that XX of working women in the UK alone are mothers.
Whilst looking for guidance to help me navigate the phase of balancing motherhood, home life, and work, I discovered an abundance of resources to help mothers, and resources for women striving for their career… but very little for mothers who are pursuing a career.
It’s like there’s a huge disconnect here – almost as if the two are not happening! And yet the latest statistics show that xx of working women in the UK alone are mothers.
We are half of the population and we are raising the other half. We owe it ourselves to help each other and accept all the help we can get!
